Insect Walk at Baner Tekdi

Tucked along the western edge of Pune, Baner Tekdi is a much-loved urban hill of rocky trails, grassland patches and native scrub. As the monsoon draws to a close in September, the hill is at its most alive: damp soil, fresh leaf growth and flowering grasses bring out an extraordinary abundance of insects — the smallest and most overlooked residents of this ecosystem.

Join educator Kedar Champhekar for a guided Insect Walk on 20th September 2026 that invites children and parents to look closer, move slower, and notice the tiny lives underfoot. Beetles, butterflies, ants, spiders, grasshoppers, bugs and pollinators are everywhere on Baner Tekdi — once you know how to look. Along the way you'll learn what each one does, why they matter, and how they hold this hillside together.
