In addition to these current studies, over the last 40 years, ES has conducted various research studies, some of the notable are as follows;

Current Research

Coastal 2.0: Advancing Marine Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Tourism in the Konkan Region

The Konkan region's rich marine biodiversity faces threats from coastal development, pollution, and overfishing. Project Coastal 2.0 engages with these issues by conducting biodiversity assessments, engaging local communities, and promoting eco-tourism to balance ecological preservation with economic growth.

Enriching the Architecture Syllabus

We aim to understand the larger environmental context of buildings, sites, and settlements. This includes defining what is local for a given building or site, assessing the impact of buildings on their surroundings, and examining how the built structures respond to natural features. We view architecture as part of a socio-ecological (culture-nature) system.

Rapid biological assessment of Pashan Lake

The objectives of the study are to make an inventory of the biodiversity of flora and fauna in and around Pashan Lake, identify ecological degradation, invasive species, and loss of native habitat, analyze the water quality of pashan lake. This study is being funded by Co-founder and Chairman of KPIT, Dr Ravi Pandit.

Rapid flora assessment of Pawana and Indrayani River

This project aims to conduct a detailed biodiversity assessment of selected riparian stretches, creating a baseline for ecological restoration and long-term protection. The findings will guide policy decisions and shape implementation plans for all projects along Pawana's banks. The study is supported from EcoConnect Ecological Consultant.
