Problem & Vision

The Problem: The Nature Deficit

In today's fast-paced, screen-dominated world, many children and even adults are experiencing a growing Nature Deficit—a disconnect from the fundamental systems that sustain life. This lack of direct, sensory interaction leads to reduced curiosity, limited understanding of ecological concepts, and a diminished sense of responsibility for the environment.

Our Vision (Theory of Change)

We believe that a single, well-guided walk can plant the seed of environmental stewardship. By offering direct, guided, and sensory experiences in nature, we facilitate moments of genuine discovery. These moments nurture curiosity and empathy, transforming passive observers into active participants. Over time, these cumulative experiences build an intrinsic appreciation for biodiversity, inspiring personal care and positive environmental action within the community.

Observe Closely

Notice the small, intricate details of flora and fauna often overlooked.

Understand Interconnections

Grasp basic ecological relationships (e.g., predator-prey, plant-pollinator).

Engage Senses

Experience nature using all five senses, moving beyond visual recognition.

Feel a Sense of Place

Develop a connection to the specific ecosystem of Pune's local natural spaces.

Our Nature Educators

Our walks are led by certified Nature Narrators—individuals professionally trained in both ecological foundations and experiential teaching methodologies. They are experts at fostering wonder, ensuring safety, and making complex ideas simple and engaging for all ages.

This walk was a powerful reminder that while society often stifles our natural wonder, nature invites us to rediscover it. True learning happens when we look beyond textbooks to the mysteries hidden in the world around us. Even the simplest things in the garden hold incredible stories waiting to be unraveled. Embrace your curiosity and never stop questioning—the world is a beautiful place to explore.

These walks keep getting better every week, offering encounters that fundamentally change how you see the world. Through captivating storytelling, nature comes alive with poetry, music, and emotion—especially the fascinating story of the wasp and the fig. My morning walks will never be the same again. This experience truly makes a difference in how we connect with the beautiful world around us.

This beautifully paced walk was full of fascinating moments, from spotting camouflaged grasshoppers to witnessing the intricate pollination of the Ficus tree. Learning to notice small details, like the unique structure of the Palash tree, made the experience feel both intimate and eye-opening. It was a perfect opportunity to slow down and connect deeply with the living world around us.

This deeply enriching walk blended ecological discovery with the beauty of creating art in nature. Spotting familiar trees like the Kinhai and Palas revived warm childhood memories of village life and the stories shared by my grandmother. It was a meaningful journey that reconnected me to the landscapes of my past while introducing me to new species like the Sita Ashok.
