Experience Mhatoba Tekdi at its most vibrant during the monsoon on a guided Herbs and Grasses Walk with nature educator Sayee Girdhari on 9th August 2026. As the rains transform the landscape, the hill comes alive with tiny, short-lived plants that appear only during this fleeting window of the year.

Some tiny plants grow only in the monsoon. They sprout with the first couple of showers, put out leaves and stems within a couple of weeks, and flower soon after, producing little fruits and seeds that will lie dormant until the next monsoon. Their entire life cycle unfolds in just 4-5 rainy months. These small, slender plants are called ephemerals. Twiny climbers, foot-long herbs, tiny 2-3 inch herbs, and delicate blades of grass all fall into this fascinating category.
