On 14th May, the Ecological Society conducted a "Life Around Us" session at Garware Balbhavan, Pune for group of young and enthusiastic friends. In this session, we familiarized them with nature and the various species found in and around Pune City. The idea behind the "Life Around Us" sessions is to help young minds identify and respect the nature and species around us, and to understand the importance of coexistence. They thoroughly enjoyed the session.
The Ecological Society will conduct such sessions regularly at Garware Balbhavan , Pune starting from June.

This is our new beginning to reach out to school children, who are the guardians of planet Earth. 🌍

On 29th April 2024, Ecological Society conducted session on environment and ecology "life around us" at Shibir for children in and around Kadus village at Rambhu Mhalgi school. Around 70 students attended the session.
This was an excellent beginning to our aim to develop understanding and love for nature and environment amongst young minds. Idea is to create environmentally conscious future citizens.
We thank Shri Gorgote, secretary of Rambhau Mhalgi school and Mr Kale from Sunidhi Publishers for giving us an opportunity to interact with young minds.

महाराष्ट्र वृक्ष संवर्धिनी व इकॉलॉजिकल सोसायटी यांनी पुण्यातील प्रख्यात ज्येष्ठ प्राणीशास्त्रज्ञ, सुप्रसिद्ध कीटकशास्त्रज्ञ, पदव्युत्तर शिक्षक डॉ. हेमंत घाटे यांचे "आगंतुक प्रजातींमुळे जैवविविधतेवर होणारा परिणाम" या विषयावर व्याख्यान १८ मार्च २०२४ रोजी आयोजित केले होते. .
स्थानिक जैवविविधतेवर आक्रमण करणाऱ्या प्रजातींमुळे होणारा दृश्य आणि सूक्ष्म परिणाम हा सध्याचा चिंतेचा विषय आहे. याचा परिणाम स्थानिक प्रजाती आणि परिसर ह्यामध्ये बदल घडवून आणतो. त्यामुळे जैवविविधतेचे नुकसान होते आणि त्याचे दूरगामी परिणाम संपूर्ण परिसंस्थेवर दिसून येतात. डॉ. हेमंत घाटे यांनी अशा घटनांबद्दल आणि त्यामुळे संवेदनशील जैवविविधतेवर होणारा थेट परिणाम याबद्दल माहिती दिली.

Ecological Society (ES) in collaboration with Centre for Sustainable Development (CSD) at Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (GIPE) along with Friends of ES conducted session on review of the book "Understanding Reality" by Shri Prakash Gole, the founder of the Ecological Society on 10 March 2024. Ecological Society presented award for Sustainable Design at Pune Design Festival (24-29 Feb) organised by Association of Designers of India (ADI). Sakshi Soni from NID Ahmedabad receive the award from Shri Ajay Phatak, Trustee, Ecological Society.
