Walk in Nature with Us!

Do you love Nature and want to know more about birds and trees?

Our nature walks could be the right platform for you to improve your understanding of ecosystems and interconnectivity between humans and other elements.

Starting June 15, we will begin nature walks for individuals and institutions like schools and colleges to 16 scenic locations in and around Pune.

Our expert field guides will take you through the lush green mountains and give you a chance to sit by lakes to see the nature unfold itself. You get to know more about trees and their role in our survival beyond providing oxygen; develop understanding of a variety of birds commonly found around us and the critical role they play in maintaining the delicate balance of nature.

We, at the Ecological Society, have conducted at least 11 nature walks with schools and colleges from January to March this year, providing an enriching experience to over 250 Puneites.

This year, we plan to take the experience to Mumbai, Nagpur and Ratnagiri as well. In Pune alone, more than 100 nature walks are planned to 16 scenic locations that include Mahtoba, Taljai, Pashan lake, Mula-Mutha confluence, Empress Garden and many others.

The objective of nature walks is to strengthen our connect with nature, develop understanding of different elements of nature like trees, birds and insects and instil the thought that humans are incomplete and weak without a robust natural ecosystem.

How can individuals participate in nature walks?

If you are an environmentally conscious parent who wants to give your child a better understanding of nature, we provide you with a golden opportunity to set out and walk along dense trees in the midst of melodious chirping of birds and experience things you have never felt before.

You can choose the place (among 16 locations) and date of nature walk as per Ecological Society’s calendar and satiate your curiosity with our expert field guides.

How can schools, colleges participate in nature walks?

Our field experts are equipped to handle students in large numbers. We can customize the walk to suit your year-long outdoor programmes and provide an excellent learning platform for those interested in environmental studies.

As per National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, educational institutions are encouraged to go for experiential learning and environmental awareness, which aligns perfectly with Ecological Society’s use of nature trails in education.
